I love red

We have found that Daniel loves to look at anything red. It is a good thing there is quite a bit of red in his nursery that he just loves to look at. So of course when the grandparents visited this past weekend they had to get him a red stuffed animal. Elmo is a perfect bright red. We also just got Daniel a swing which he loves to sit in. We put Elmo just above Daniel for him to look at. Daniel loves to look at Elmo. He sits in his swing and has to look way up to see him, as you can see from these pictures.

Visitor at the door

I found a visitor at our door when I went to get the mail. That is a praying mantis hanging out right underneath our door bell. I must say I was not expecting that when I went out our door. He makes for a neat photo though.

Fall rose bloom

Today I am going to let you enjoy a picture of a pretty rose from my garden. This is the last of the rose blooms this fall. We received a lot of rain in the last week, and it did a number on my climbing rose bush. Part of it actually fell off of the trellis. The rose bush also didn’t get taken care of very well this year since I was a little busy, being pregnant and all. So, it was time to do a major fall pruning on the rose bush. I did get one last set of flowers to bring inside and enjoy. I hope you enjoy the picture. The rose bush’s name is Cl America.

Baby Shower Thank You card

I made this card awhile back after a baby shower was held for me. This is the thank you card I made to send people. It uses the Hero art stamp set “Playful animals” that has some really cute animals to stamp in it. I used Copic markers to color in the animals.

Fern ATC

In August I participated in Wishful Thinking’s ATC swap based on the theme “How does your garden grow”. I came up with a fern themed ATC card. As you can see I have included a picture of the ferns growing in my garden. I received five ATC cards in return and I have also posted them so you can see them. Baby's first photos

Here I have done a page with pictures from Daniel’s first ultrasound. This was the first time we got to see our baby. I found a great collection of scrapbook supplies from Little Yellow Bicycle. The collection is Baby Safari for boys.

September 11th changed all of us. Take a moment today to remember all of those who are greatly affected by that tragedy, especially those who lost loved ones.

Nature's nest birthday card

I made this card for someone’s birthday. I used distress stickles in the color peeled paint on the edge of the card, and glimmer mist to color the dragonfly. I have only recently started using both of these products and I really like them. Daniel's Nursery

It took some time, but we finally got Daniel’s nursery put together just before he arrived. We started by picking out a crib bedding set that we liked, that also had a border to match. Then we picked the paint colors from the border. My aunt made the quilted wall hanging for the room. She had not seen the room when she made the quilt, but it came out just perfect. My sister painted the picture that is on the wall. She tailored it to go with the alphabet theme. It is so nice to have handmade items in the nursery. The hardest part was deciding on the furniture. Picking out a comfortable rocker for the nursery was very difficult. I can’t count how many furniture stores we went to, and they can be expensive also. After many weekends searching we finally found a chair my husband and I both liked. We also could not find a crib set we liked here in Louisville. I just happened to be in Indianapolis visiting my family and came across the store Buy Buy Baby. They had too many furniture sets to choose from. So, I made my husband go back with me and we picked out a set. The next challenge was getting all the furniture to Louisville. Luckily my parent helped out with my dad’s truck, and would bring down a piece at a time when they would visit. We also had to order a piece and had to wait several weeks for it to arrive. It came in and my parent brought it down right before Daniel was born. It took some time, but everything finally came together in the end.
